Item: Club Jaunt Review: Soul By The Sea

Review by Andy & Julia Lett

Soul by The Sea, Fleetwood August 13th 2005

Thank you to everyone who made the trip to Marine Hall on August 13th. Big shout to Charlie for his tireless efforts in organising the minibuses.

A busy night with 650+ people. Never seen both dance floors as packed. Loads of old faces & many new ones. All the DJs in both rooms did the business.

See www.soulbythesea.co.uk for the photos. Well done to Jim & Malcolm for another stormer of a night. Next one down there is Saturday October 29th.

Here is just a flavour of what stood out on the night for quality & dancefloor reaction in no particular order.

Northern Room
Gene Chandler, Oscar Perry, Ronnie Mcneir, Bobby Hutton, Intruders, Duprees & lots of top Motown floorfillers.

Modern Room
Mousse T, Kenny Carvajal, Kings of Tomorrow, Jackson Sisters, Kenny Latimore, Sean Oliver, Kenny Thomas as well as classic oldies from Melba Moore, George Benson, Stevie Wonder who also featured on a superb & exclusive track alongside John Legend mixing "My Cherie Amour" with "Ordinary People"

Orwell big five tunes

William "Smoke" Howard - "That's What Love Does" (Philly Sound)
Four Tops - "Clip My Wings" (Motown) Cd
Funk Inc - "Let's Make Peace" (Prestige)
David Ruffin - "Rode By The Place" (Motown)
Chuck Jackson - "Take Off Your Make Up" (Abc)
