October
1st saw the third gig at Lytham Football Academy for Family Tree.
DJs Steve
Naylor, Andy Lett & Pete Haigh putting the tunes down to an appreciative
crowd of people from Manchester, Wigan, Preston & of course the
"charabang" from Morecambe.
Early
evening tunes were of a jazzy house nature with each DJ taking it in
turns to lay some of the more left field things for people to listen
to. Steve kicked off his first set with wicked dancers such as Roy Ayers
- "Holiday" , the ever so soulful Alex Latimore - "Rush
Hour", the always popular Ashley Beadle re-edit of "There
Was A Time" & of course the quirky but brilliant Chroma Obscura
- "Glow Worms" - a Charles Dixon Esq fave.
Andy
hit the decks playing a few house & disco classics from the likes
of Stephanie Cooke, Double Exposure, Coke Escovedo & new standout
tracks Studio Apartment - "Flight", Groove Junkies- "Catch
Your Shine" & the truly awesome Vince Montana & William
"Smoke" Howard with "That's What Love Does"
Pete followed
& did not disapoint with tracks from Ron & the Muthafunkas,
Loose Ends, Franck Roger & an anthem of his, the Norman Jay, Stevie
Wonder influenced "Hipness" which saw great reaction from
the floor.
Last hour
was a party & classics mash up with the night ending on the brilliant
Tom Moulton remix of Barbara Mason "Yes I'm Ready".
A good
night had by all & the next one is a Christmas "knees up"
on Saturday December 3rd - Try not to miss it.
