Seaside Soul Club's 6th Anniversary Charity Night Review

Huge thanks from the Club to everyone who attended Smokey O’Connor’s last Saturday to join with us in celebrating the Club’s 6th Anniversary. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves, it certainly looked like it. A top night with top people and top sounds we thought…
A big thanks as well to all of you for the very, very generous donations on the night. As ever on these anniversary occasions, we not only out there just to have a great deal of fun, listening to and stepping to some top soul choons. But we were also there to try and raise some hard cash for some of the Club’s favourite charities, principally this year, Leukaemia Research.
So I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know, as we were, that through the entry donations and the anniversary CD donations (below) we raised a whopping £325.00 on the night. We also know that with a few more bits to come in, we should have one large wad together when we present some cheques in November.
Top show to you all, thanks again
For those that stayed right on until the end of the night (unlike ald poorly me), there was another little “Brucie Bonus” at the SSC, with a late visit from a very good friend of the Club and of our top DJ Tim Curry, the wonderful and soulful Kim Weston.
I was told there were plenty of beer mats being shredded and stripped as quick as owt, as many of you took the opportunity to grab an autograph, a chat and a picture. Great end to the night I’m sure.
All the pictures we managed to get on the night have now been uploaded to the Club’s Gallery. So if you want your picture with Kim on the SSC gallery too, simply send it through to the Club via an email to "theclub @seasidesoul.co.uk" (without the gap), and we’ll get it up there for prosperity. Next Seaside Soul Club Night will be our Christmasy Doo on 19th December. Again we will be at Smokey’s with all the best soul sounds for the season. It’d sure be cool to see you all again for that one, hope you can make it.
Just to also let you know that we’re not far off confirming the details and dates for all our 2010 events, both for venues in Morecambe and Lancaster. I'm glad to say this will also include further details on what we hope will be a very special, 4th North Lancs Soul Festival on the weekend of the 21st, 22nd & 23rd May in Morecambe.
Keep a look and an ear out, and we hope to see you all at our soulful festivities in December.
